An article in today’s Boston Globe says that China is sending a new surge of high-value, high tech exports such as cell phones, computers, electronics and cars into the world market.
According to the article: “China’s Ministry of Information says home-grown firms such as TCL, Ningbo Bird Co. Ltd., and Haier Group now account for 55 percent of the handsets sold in China, the world’s largest mobile-phone market. Motorola and Nokia, which began the year as market leaders with a combined 40 percent of the market, have seen their market share cut in half.”
