From New York Times:
For the second time in less than a week, Chinese authorities announced that one of their Olympic athletes had tested positive for a banned substance and was subsequently barred from his sport for life.
The wrestler Luo Meng tested positive for a diuretic, a drug that could be used to rid the body of performance-enhancing substances, Chinese antidoping officials said Wednesday. That announcement came five days after Chinese swimming officials confirmed that the backstroker Ouyang Kunpeng had failed a test in May for the drug clenbuterol, which some athletes use to reduce body fat.
The athletes and their coaches were handed lifetime bans from their sports.
“This proves that our antidoping system is working well,” Zhao Jian, deputy director of the China Anti-Doping Agency, told Xinhua, the country’s official news agency. “We will catch those who dare to cheat.”
