From the International Herald Tribune:
China, which attended a Group of 7 meeting for the first time in October, will not be sending its most senior finance and banking officials to a gathering next week of the world’s leading industrialized nations in Washington, a spokesman for the U.S. Treasury Department said.
“Senior Chinese officials have told the U.S. Treasury they will not be coming to Washington for the spring meetings” of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and they will also miss a Group of 7 meeting, the Treasury spokesman, Rob Nichols, said without elaborating.
