Zhang Bijian, a senior adviser to President Hu Jintao, is the chief architect of China’s “peaceful rise” policy and chairman of the China Reform Forum, a government-associated think tank. In a recent interview with Jehangir S. Pocha, a Globe correspondent in Beijing, Zhang explained why he thinks China’s growing influence will not threaten the global order.
