Seeing this video doesn’t remind you of the “harmonious society” the Chinese new leadership is vowing to build. But the harmoniousness of the People’s Liberation Army’s parade for China’s 50-year anniversary is nothing but extraordinary.
Miss some faces of old Chinese leaders like Jiang Zemin, Zhu Rongji and Li Peng? Here there are a couple of nostalgia shots in the beginning of them viewing the parade at the top of the Tiananmen Tower.
The 8-minute clip (you can buy more from Google Video if you want) looks utterly Chinese, or even North Korean, in its unbeatably synchronized parading of human matrixes. Unseen, however, is the literally tons of sweat these men and women have put into the preparation.
