China vows to curb junk e-mail

AP reported from Beijing that the Chinese government has launched a fight against junk e-mail, fearful that the spam bombarding its citizens’ in-boxes may contain pornography, anti-communist sentiments or other material objectionable to the Beijing government.

According to state media, the ministries of public security, education and information industry will work together to combat junk e-mail. They want more than 90 percent of China’s e-mail servers take prevention measures against spam by the end of June.
