White House Rejects Trade Case Vs. China

Both Xinhua and the AP have reported on the White House’s rejection of a request by members of Congress that the US bring a case against China at the WTO for manipulating its currency to gain unfair trade advantages: “In a statement, Neena Morjani, a spokeswoman for U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick, said that the administration believed pursuing such a case would undermine diplomatic efforts the administration is pursuing to get China to change its currency policies. ”
