From The Taiwan News Online:
Nearly one year after the shooting of President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) and Vice President Annette Lu (呂秀蓮), the police announced Monday they had identified the gunman. The declaration raised an immediate uproar in some quarters as the police have yet to recover the gun and the suspect was found dead by drowning 10 days after the attack. Polls show that a majority of people in Taiwan find the discovery hard to believe. Even Lu has voiced doubts. Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜), Criminal Investigative Bureau commissioner and deputy head of the investigative team, detailed how the task force arrived at its conclusion. He spoke with Taiwan News reporters Crystal Hsu and Lu Chia-ying during an interview at his office Tuesday.
