The number of telephone subscribers in China is expected to top 820 mln this year, up from 746 mln at the end of 2005, the China Daily reported, citing figures from the Ministry of Information Industry.
Fixed-line subscribers are expected to increase by 30 mln this year, while mobile phone subscribers will increase 48 mln, the newspaper said, without providing comparative figures.
