China’s political consultative system can help the country avoid “color revolution” — a turmoil that troubled some central Asian nations launched by foreign hostile forces, a senior advisor said Friday.
The deliberative democracy mechanism under the framework of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) serves as a major channel for citizens’ orderly involvement in political, economic and social affairs, said Li Junru, a member of the CPPCC National Committee.
The advantages of this framework should be well displayed to help China meet the democracy-related challenges from both at home and abroad, especially the challenges from a possible “color revolution,” said Li, deputy president of the Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, a think tank of the CPC.
