CNNIC: Online Sales Strong – maoxianjia

China Internet Network Information Center(CNNIC) published reprot “2006 China C2C Online Sales Survey” published on May 10, 2006.

According to the report, by the end of March, C2C(personal to personal) online customers in the largest three cities Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou has reached 2 million. The penetration rate in net users has reached 16.2%. The report showed especially strong purchases among female net users.

In the three cities, Shanghai has the highest penetration rat of 18.5%, followed by Beijing with 17.5% and Guangzhou with 11.5%.

When calculated with both number of purchases and purchases, Taobao came in 67.3%, eBay 29.1%, Paipai 2.2% and Yipai 1.4%.
