The Black and White Cat blog (via ESWN) points out that the details about the apparent suicide of a Tianjin official are less than clear, and that Xinhua followed its standard operating procedure by releasing the news close to midnight on Friday:
By now, everyone appears to agree that Song Pingshun, the chairman of the Tianjin Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Conference, was being investigated for corruption and committed suicide on Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Monday.
