A Fengniao photographer took many pictures of migrant workers. He says that migrant workers’ lives are harsh as they work hard everyday, but never get rich. He wants to make more people pay attention to them by showing the pictures of their real lives. Migrant workers don’t have high expectations, he says. As long as they get paid on time, they are satisfied.
In order to take these photos, he went to a labor market and talked to the workers. There are various reasons for them to come to this market: some didn’t get paid after working in the city; pone is too old to travel far to find a job; another cannot leave his home due to other reasons… There are only some scattered temporary jobs available in the labor market. It is not easy for migrant workers to find work. Many of them cannot find anything, with salaries of 40-50 Yuan (about $7) for 10 hours a day, a couple of days for a job.
