“With 100 days remaining until the Olympic Games get underway, Chinese authorities are marking the milestone with a series of events.” From BBC:
…Early on Wednesday morning, thousands of residents of the Chinese capital turned out to participate in a mini-marathon around the National Stadium (known as the Bird’s Nest) and the Olympic Green.
Later an Olympic theme tune, Beijing Huang Ying Ni – Beijing welcomes you, will be unveiled in the Forbidden City by 100 singers and celebrities, including actors Jackie Chan and Andy Lau.
While unrest in Tibet and the Olympic flame’s troubled circumnavigation of the globe have made headlines around the world, Beijing’s preparations for the Games have received less attention.
