State media reported on a January 12 Ministry of Finance announcement that the domestic consumption tax on petroleum products would be raised on January 13. This is the third time China’s oil consumption tax has been raised since late November.
Since directives are sometimes communicated orally to journalists and editors, who then leak them online, the wording published here may not be exact.
