India has no agreement with China on sharing waters of major rivers which originate there and flow into the country, but the two have signed an agreement on sharing water-flow related information, Water Resources Minister, Mr Priya Rajan Dasmunshi told the Lok Sabha today.
Recently, China agreed to a controlled release of water from the artificial lake created on Parechu river in China due to a landslide in 2004 and which threatened to wash away several towns and villages in Himachal Pradesh, the minister informed the House during question hour.
