A lawyer jailed for helping residents in Shanghai fight a forced eviction case may have been beaten and has been denied family visits, Amnesty International said.An official at Shanghai’s Tilanqiao Prison, where Zheng Enchong is serving a three-year sentence, informed his family on December 10 that he had broken an unspecified rule, Amnesty said. The official said, as a consequence, the family’s monthly visits have been suspended, without saying how long the family is prevented from visiting him.
