KMT regains majority in Taiwan legislature – Xinhua

From Xinhua News Agency via sina.com (in Chinese), translated by CDT (link):

Today, Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party legislator Lin Weizhou renounced his membership with his party, and said that he would not join any other party either. This gave the opposition Nationalist Party, or Kuomintang, the majority in the legislature. They both had 88 seats, now Kuomintang leads by one.

Polls show that Chen Shui-bian only has an approval rating of 20%, with more than 60% of Taiwanese dissatisfied with his job.
