It says “shares of Chinadotcom (CHINA ) surged 11% to $8.67 after the Chinese technology provider announced plans to spin off its mobile and Internet businesses. The Hong Kong-based company expects to hold an initial public offering sometime during the first half of 2004. The news comes on the heels of another big Chinese IPO, that of insurer China Life, whose $3 billion offering just priced at the high end of the range.”
