Xinhua’s entertainment page is not where I usually surf to. But today I received an email which contained this link on boingboing. The link pointed to China View’s entertainment page today, entitled “Amazing colored paintings on human bodies”
The email said: “not sure If you want to post this but it’s interesting.” I clicked the link and then thought about it for a few seconds: I have blogged news on an imprisoned cyber political writer and a sex blogger, and I have linked to photos of the poor in Chinese literature BBS last week. This link shows how far the official press can now go in terms of entertainment and soft “news”, and is another piece of the fabric of “digital culture with Chinese characteristics.” For that reason, I thought it was worth sharing here.
