From China National News: “China’s State Commission for Population and Family Planning Thursday said despite low birthrates, strict policies will continue for the foreseeable future.
The average number of children in a Chinese family has dropped from 5.8 in the early 1970s to 1.8, figures from the commission released by state-run press show. The drop was attributed to unremitting efforts carrying out family planning policy over the past three decades.”
