China to keep yen stable, economy expected to grow in 2006-Associated Press

China’s economy will grow by “about eight percent” this year, Premier Wen Jiabao was to say in his opening address to the annual session of parliament, according to a copy of the speech.

GDP (gross domestic product) should grow by about eight percent and energy consumption per unit of
GDP should fall by about four percent,” Wen was to say, according to an advance copy of the speech handed out to journalists.
