Photo Series: Mass Protest To Boycott Dog Policy

From Wenxuecity, translated by CDT:

A mass anti-dog control riot burst out yesterday (Nov. 11th, 2006) in Beijing. The government killed dogs to avoid rabies a month ago, which irked many, especially pet owners. Protesters gethered at the gate of Beijing Zoo and held up signs that read “Respect Lives,” “Anti-Slaughter,” “Love Animals,” etc. Some people even chanted slogans. The police wedged into the crowd to disperse them and rounded up several protesters and reporters. [Chinese post here]
