WSJ Editor Says Murdoch’s Buyout Won’t Affect China Coverage – AP

Rupert Murdoch’s takeover of The Wall Street Journal will not affect its coverage of China, the newspaper’s editor said Tuesday, rejecting concerns he could interfere in editorial decisions to strengthen his Chinese business interests.

“My expectation is that there will be no change in our China coverage,” Paul Steiger, the newspaper’s editor at large, said in Beijing. “Coverage of China is an extremely important priority for The Wall Street Journal … it’s very important to our readers and we intend to pursue it actively and we don’t expect there to be any change in that.” [Full Text]
