Minitrue: Delete Vice Education Minister’s Speech

Minitrue: Delete Vice Education Minister’s Speech

The following censorship instructions, issued to the media by government authorities, have been leaked and distributed online. The name of the issuing body has been omitted to protect the source.

Find and delete the article “Lu Xin: Private Education Growth Entering Era 4.0.” (April 14, 2015) [Chinese]

Vice minister of education Lu Xin spoke at a recent working meeting of the Nonprofit Private University Alliance in Changchun, Jilin. The article ordered for deletion summarizes the main points she addressed: “The CCP Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to private education; the direction of reform and development in Chinese private education; new opportunities for private education within this new direction; private education reform and development again enters a new stage.”

While the article relaying the full text of her address to the meeting has been deleted in accordance with the censorship directive, general news stories on the topic are still online.

真Since directives are sometimes communicated orally to journalists and editors, who then leak them online, the wording published here may not be exact. The date given may indicate when the directive was leaked, rather than when it was issued. CDT does its utmost to verify dates and wording, but also takes precautions to protect the source.
