China Digital Times (CDT) is seeking thoughtful, knowledgeable, and self-motivated virtual volunteers with an avid interest in China, journalism, and online media to participate in our site.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable bloggers to help monitor online news about China and/or translate Chinese content into English to post on CDT. The ideal person has knowledge of contemporary Chinese society and politics and familiarity with ongoing current events there; good news sense; and an excellent command of English. Expertise and interest in a specific area, such as legal reform, business, pop culture, art and music, etc, is especially welcome, as is familiarity with blogging and multimedia editing/production software.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most widely-read English news sites about China, while developing online publishing and news-gathering skills firsthand and covering developments in China during the exciting period around the 2008 Olympics. This is an unpaid, volunteer position that will work closely (virtually) with the CDT editors. To apply, please send a brief email explaining why you are interested in contributing to CDT, along with a sample CDT post on any subject, to CDT@chinadigitaltimes.net (Put CDT Blogging in the Subject line).
