Chinese President Hu Jintao said Thursday that China would stick to socialism with Chinese characteristics as it has proven to suit China.
“Facts have proven that it is a correct road leading China to prosperity and brings happy lives to the Chinese people,” Hu, also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said at a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Hu said for a country to realize economic and social progress and lasting peace and stability, it must find a road that suits both its own conditions and the times. Hu said that China’s experience in reform and opening up, its historical development and the world situation were all considered.
