The following is the first in a series of articles on China’s distortion of Korean history. The first part deals with Kojoson, the first kingdom on the Korean Peninsula, founded in 2333 B.C. _ ED.
Koreans proudly say the country has a history of 5,000 years as its first kingdom, Kojoson, was established in 2333 B.C. That ancient kingdom has been considered Korea’s origin and many elementary schools here have statues of Tangun, Korea’s legendary founding father.
But Korean historians are not sure exactly when the kingdom was founded because there is little evidence to back up their arguments. Even encyclopedias published by Korean companies describe the kingdom’s foundation year as “not certain.” [Full Text]
