China’s First Son Keeps Low, Goes Global – Shu-Ching Jean Chen

Hu Haifeng, the 35-year-old only son of China’s President Hu Jintao, has been carefully keeping a low-profile at home away from the media spotlight, in-line with his father’s cautious style. But this low-key approach hasn’t prevented the company he heads from making a splash both at home and abroad.

The junior Hu serves as president at Nuctech Co., formerly known as Nuclear Technology Company, an offshoot from the alma mater of the father-and-son pair, National Tsinghua University in Beijing.

The nine-year-old company claims on its Web site to be the world’s leading company “in the research and development of X-ray inspection technology.” [Full Text]
