The Wall Street Journal’s China Real Time blog has launched a new online reference tool for viewing China’s economic statistics:
To save China Real Time readers the trouble of fighting it out with journalists at the State Council Information Office or getting lost for hours in the maze of Beijing’s Internet, we are today launching the China Econtracker, an interactive tool for tracking China’s economy.
At launch, the Econtracker includes data for the key economic indicators: Gross Domestic Product … Industrial Value Added … Fixed Asset Investment … Exports … Imports … Trade balance … Foreign Exchange Reserves … Consumer Price Index … [and] Bank Credit ….
We will continue to add indicators to the Econtracker as time goes on with an aim to build the most comprehensive, free, English-language resource on the web for tracking changes in the world’s second-largest economy. Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments.
