Dy S P 2007-08-30 U608P1T1D13777757F23Dt20070830100537Shenzhen is exposing all its true colors when it comes to displaying emotions, against Beijing’s intention to spruce up its image. Translated from Southern Metro Daily:

In the cat-and-mouse game of people who post scam bills and those who try to catch the posters, Shenzhen is escalating the game with some verbal brutality, with signs cursing the bill posters to the worse etiquette standards in history, according to some Shenzhen residents. People and officials dismissed both sides.

For example, the first one (on the yellow trash can) says “those who litter are shameful and deserve death,” and “those who throw trash across the street [had better] be run over by cars!”

The second one (on the marquee-tile war) says “those who post bills here, three generations of his/her family members will all die!” [Full Text in Chinese]
