From Reuters today: “China has deployed thousands of troops in a southwestern province where tens of thousands of farmers staged protests in the past week against dam project that would flood them from their homes, Hong Kong media said on Saturday.
At least three people have died so far in the demonstrations, according to residents and Hong Kong’s Apple Daily newspaper. ”
