R&D centers flood in to harness the Chinese brain

From China Economic Net: “To multinationals, 2004 was a year for further moving to China. In addition to increasing investments, lured by the low R&D expense in this country, multinationals kept setting up R&D centers in China, and outsourced R&D projects. Leveraging Chinese resources to develop more products that suit the China market and grab more market shares is a self-evident market strategy for multinationals. ‘Grabbing the China market by harnessing the Chinese wisdom’ became the wind vane for multinationals in 2004.”
