The Holy See hopes that tensions between the Catholic Church and China will end soon, the Vatican’s secretary of state was quoted as saying on Tuesday.
The Chinese government prevented four Chinese bishops from attending a worldwide synod, or meeting, of bishops this month at the Vatican.
“Let’s hope that soon these tensions of the moment will end,” Cardinal Angelo Sodano was quoted as saying by Ansa and Apcom, two Italian news agencies.
