This group of photos were taken in March of this year. The photographer was following the folk troupe for 8 days.
(Left) Everyone is busy and doesn’t have time to take care of the sleeping baby. (Right)Ai Hong, the most popular girl in the troupe, is putting on the traditional makeup.
The cultural establishments are very simple in rural China except the festivals and holidays. Most of the young are out of the village for work and only old people stay behind to watch the rural performances.
The boy, named Niu Caowang and a performer’s son of the troupe, is thirsty.
