Explosion Kills 25 in Karaoke Parlor in Northeast China – AP

Qu Hau, the owner of a karaoke club and a coal mine manager, was killed when the mining explosives he kept below his club exploded.

A blast ripped through a karaoke parlor and bathhouse in northeast China on Wednesday night, killing 25 people and injuring 33 others, state news media reported Thursday.

The Xinhua News Agency said the cause of the blast in Tianshifu Township in Liaoning Province was being investigated. The karaoke parlor’s owner was killed in the explosion, but his wife and several employees were being questioned, Xinhua said. The report did not say if they were suspects. [Full Text]
