Rebel Pepper (变态辣椒) marks China’s first Constitution Day with a drawing depicting President Xi Jinping with a Pinocchio-like nose poking a hole in the constitution. His caption reads:
I hear today is your honorable country’s first Constitution Day. I remember the constitution has been screwed by the Party for many years already, so I especially made this drawing to commemorate it.

The caption uses a play on the word “day,” as in “Constitution Day,” which also is slang for “fuck” in the Sichuan dialect. While Xi Jinping trumpeted “constitutionalism” in his administration’s early political rhetoric, he has simultaneously overseen a crackdown on activists who advocate for rule of law.
