The Wall Street Journal has an update on the oil pipeline explosion in Dalian:
China National Petroleum Corp. said it would do all it could to limit the impact of a series of oil-pipeline explosions near the shipping and tourism city of Dalian, as Chinese leaders focused on the nation’s latest high-profile industrial accident.
The explosions have affected about 50 square kilometers of ocean, according to state-run media, which estimated 1,500 tons of crude oil had entered the water. About 50 tons had already been cleaned up. State radio cited a Dalian government official as saying the cleanup should take about two weeks given normal weather.
