Via China Study Group, the South China Morning Post reported that “China has only 1 per cent of the world’s reserves of natural gas, usually found in tandem with crude oil.
But trapped amid the mainland’s massive coal reserves, the third-largest in the world, are pockets of methane that can be consumed just like natural gas. ”
