China’s unmanned spaceship to near the moon next year – People’s Daily

China’s unmanned spaceship is to near the moon for exploration in 2007, said Luo Ge, deputy administrator of China National Space Administration, who is paying a visit to Washington.

According to Luo, China is planning a few unmanned moon-landing space flights. An unmanned flight near the moon will take place in 2007. China will realize the moon landing in 2012, and will take samples of the moon back to the earth in 2017.

China has a plan to build a low-cost, pollution free carrier rocket with capacity of 25 tons before 2011.
