For his latest installment of the Hexie Farm CDT series, cartoonist Crazy Crab draws inspiration from Cinderella in commenting on President Hu Jintao’s work report at the 18th Party Congress, in which he discussed the need for certain political reforms. Yet his commitment to real reform appeared to be no more real than Cinderella’s chariot and ball gown. The Fairy Godmother (holding a copy of “The Magic of Propaganda”) tells him the “magic” from his speech is nothing more than tofu dregs – a reference to poorly constructed infrastructure projects.
