Cheng Yizhong freed after graft sentence

“A former top editor of a reformist newspaper arrested for embezzlement this year has been released from jail, journalists said yesterday.

Cheng Yizhong , former editor-in-chief of the Southern Metropolitan Daily, was arrested in March in Guangzhou on charges of embezzlement of state-owned assets. “He has been freed this afternoon in Guangzhou,” said Beijing News reporter. “
