The deputy governor of Shanxi (ÈôïË•ø) province berates local officials for “going though the motions” on preventing avian flu – Guo Hunqiang

F200511180950562228420368 From People’s Daily Ôºàin ChineseÔºâ:

“Have your chickens been vaccinated? Please show your vaccination record.” This is the deputy governor Wang Shousen‘s first question when he visited each farmer’s house during the Provincial Avian Flu Emergency Response Drill in Jingyang Ê≥æÈò≥Âéø county yesterday. What he did not expect was, random searches of three poultry farmers found that none of them did a sufficient job at preventing and controlling the disease. This made him very angry. Mr. Wang Shousen pointed his finger at some local officials in front of the crowd, and berated them “You are just eating the emperor’s food, but not doing the work.”
