Badiucao (巴丢草): VoldeMao

Badiucao (巴丢草): VoldeMao

For his latest CDT cartoon, Badiucao refers to the recent dispute between the Japanese and Chinese ambassadors in which they both evoked “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,” the evil Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter novels. A Chinese Weibo user later imagined how the ambassadors’ subsequent shared interview on BBC’s Newsnight could have proceeded had they stuck with the Harry Potter theme.

In his cartoon Badiucao also evokes Voldemort but in reference to a different Chinese leader.
