A glitch at the opening ceremony for the winter Olympics in Sochi has risen to Internet memedom. A display of five snowflakes blossoming into the Olympic rings malfunctioned when the last flake on the right refused to open. Russian TV viewers saw a few seconds of black, followed by flawless footage from rehearsal, but the world has already immortalized the blip in fake ads and T-shirts, including a design sold on the Chinese site Taobao.

Weibo cartoonist Wang Zuozhongyou (@王左中右) illustrates his take on the fail with a 404, the error message that appears when a webpage cannot be found. In China, a 404 often indicates that the page in question is blocked.
